St Michael's, Dún Laoghaire

The country's longest-running annual season of organ recitals maintain[ed] the usual mix of high-calibre Irish and international artists … the Palestrina Choir was in fine fettle for the plainchant Veni Creator Spiritus (sung in brisk procession) and two motets — Palestrina's Loquebantur variis linguis and Victoria's Dum complerentur.

Blánaid Murphy's direction brought a feeling of relaxed efficiency to the polyphony…

Finzi and Britten

Finzi’s Wordsworth setting, Intimations of Immortality and Britten’s celebration of the end of winter, the Spring Symphony – present considerable challenges to a choir, being unfamiliar and hard to learn. These were not issues for the young choristers of the Palestrina Choir, whose singing was technically disciplined as well as pure and spirited.

Bach Cantatas 2008

The Palestrina Choir … resident ensemble at the Pro-Cathedral … might not place Lutheran sacred music among its core activities but its considerable experience with Latin polyphony contributed to confident handling of Bach's complex counterpoint.

…the choir's abundant sound brimmed with breezy enthusiasm.

Conductor Blánaid Murphy … realised images of busy and crisply urgent celebration.

Christmas with the Palestrina Choir

A lovely mix of boys’ voices arrives from Dublin with a repertoire that runs from the Vulgate to Benjamin Britten. If the Wexford Carol is one of your seasonal ‘faves’, you will never hear it more authentically sung; the young soloists here are unexpectedly characterful. The sound, in St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, is of spine-tingling veracity.

Bach Cantatas 2010

The Palestrina trebles' [...] even and ample tone-production, confident entries, and disciplined diction made for a fair match with the adroit lower voices.
