Emmet Lyons joined the Palestrina Choir as a junior probationer in 1977 (under Fr. Séan O hEarcaigh), completed training as a senior chorister five years later and then returned as a Gentlemen of the Choir in 1991. Remarkably, Emmet has worked with five of the seven Palestrina Choir directors. He comes from a long and rich musical background with initial studies in piano and voice at the College of Music (now DIT) with further vocal study under the renowned Sr. Peter Cronin. Emmet has also sung with the RTÉ Philharmonic Choir, Our Lady’s Choral Society and Cantando; has recorded extensively and, in his musical career, has travelled throughout Europe and the US.
