John Magee has been with the Palestrina Choir for an over 16 years. By profession a property valuer, he is also a recognised vocal soloist and chorister, and was awarded the Silver Medal in the Baritone competition at the 1993 Feis Ceoil. John has performed and recorded with many national choirs and choral societies, appeared as a chorus member for Opera Ireland and has participated in six CD recordings including the 1997 Faith of Our Fathers in Carnegie Hall. Past solo work has included Handel’s Messiah, at the National Concert Hall for the DIT Conservatory, Saint-Saens’ Oratorio de Noel and the Mozart Requiem (Carlow Choral Society). Most recent solo engagements have seen John take the bass solos in the Fauré Requiem and Messiah. He currently studies voice with Edith Forrest.
